Be The Roots of Change

Tree Roots by Water

Founded in 2026, Holistic Homies is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated bridging the gap between local needs and global solutions. By fostering a culture of transparency and shared responsibility, we ensure that our impact is felt in every corner of the community we serve.

We believe lasting change begins by cultivating strong roots of change. Holistic Homies plants seeds of safety and is committed to strengthening communities through accessible education, supportive relationships, and opportunities for healing. We create inclusive spaces where individuals of all ages can develop emotional awareness, build healthier relationships, and access the tools and support needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience.

By addressing the root causes of disconnection, chronic stress, and unresolved adversity, Holistic Homies works to prevent cycles of violence, addiction, and harm by fostering communities rooted in safety, belonging, and collective care. Through education, connection, and service, we empower individuals to become sources of support and positive change within their families, neighborhoods, and communities.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that progress is not a single event, but a continuous process of growth and resilience. We are dedicated to building a future where every member of our community has the tools to thrive.

Our Vision & Values

We envision communities where seeds of safety, connection, and resilience take root, cultivating healthier relationships, breaking cycles of harm, and creating lasting change for generations to come.

Accessibility
Compassion
Inclusion

Healing, education, and supportive connection should be available to everyone. We work to reduce barriers by creating approachable, affordable, and inclusive opportunities for people to access tools and resources that support their well-being.

We approach each person with curiosity, empathy, and understanding. Recognizing that behaviors are often shaped by lived experiences, unmet needs, and survival responses, we lead with dignity, support, and human connection.

Every person deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and respected. We honor diverse experiences, identities, perspectives, and pathways of healing while cultivating spaces where people can show up authentically and experience belonging.

Empowerment
Practicality
Safety

We support individuals in recognizing their own capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. Through education, practical tools, and supportive environments, we help people build self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to become sources of safety for others.

Healing tools should be approachable and easy to integrate into everyday life. We focus on sharing realistic practices, education, and experiences that people can carry beyond our spaces to navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and support their communities.

Safety is the foundation that allows healing and connection to occur. We create environments rooted in respect, trust, healthy boundaries, accountability, and mutual care where people feel supported to explore their experiences without judgment.

Woman Walking Forest
A Note from Our Founder

Holistic Homies was born from a deeply personal understanding of what it feels like to need a safe place and not know where to find one. Growing up, I experienced firsthand what it feels like to navigate life without consistent safety, support, or the presence of someone who could help me process difficult emotions and experiences. The abuse, dysregulation, neglect, and longing for connection I experienced shaped the way I learned to move through the world.

Through my own healing journey, I came to understand that what I was searching for as a child was not something extra; it was a fundamental human need. Safe, supportive relationships are essential for healthy development, emotional well-being, and resilience. As I continued learning, I began to recognize that my experiences were not isolated. They were connected to larger patterns of harm that can be carried across generations when people do not have access to the support, tools, and safe relationships needed to heal. I began to understand how unresolved trauma, chronic stress, and a lack of emotional support can shape the way people relate to themselves and others, contributing to cycles of violence, addiction, disconnection, and further harm.

This shifted my understanding of healing: meaningful change requires more than helping people cope after harm has occurred. It requires creating communities where people have the opportunity to experience safety, connection, and support before those cycles continue.

The loss of a dear friend to suicide deepened this calling. It reminded me that accessible spaces for connection and support are not just beneficial, they are necessary and a human right. No one should feel like they have nowhere to turn during their hardest moments.

During some of my hardest moments, I experienced the power of what those communities could look like. Refuge often came through compassionate friends who offered what I had always needed: a soft place to land, someone to sit with me through the pain, and the reminder that I did not have to carry everything alone. Those experiences showed me that healing does not happen only through individual effort; it happens through the relationships and communities that surround us. Safe connection became one of the most transformative parts of my own healing and personal growth.

Through this realization, I also became more aware of how many people do not have access to the same support systems that I was so lucky to experience through friends. Many communities' facing poverty, isolation, and systemic barriers experience limited access to mental health resources, supportive relationships, and spaces where healing can occur, creating a gap in care. When people are left without these essential supports, cycles of harm continue across generations. I realized there was a desperate need for accessible, community-based spaces where people could experience the safety, connection, and support that are so foundational to healing.

Holistic Homies was created to help bridge that gap: to be a place people can turn to when they do not have anywhere safe to go. A place where people can be supported, witnessed, heard, learn, reconnect, and experience the kind of compassionate community that helps people heal.

My hope is that Holistic Homies becomes the place I once needed: a community rooted in safety, belonging, and care. A place where people can rest easy knowing they are cared for when life feels overwhelming, learn new ways of relating to themselves and others, and carry those experiences of safety forward into the world to help and protect others in need.

With love and hope,

- Madelyne
