Holistic Homies

Supporting communities by building accessible spaces for safe connection & education

THE GOAL

A federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, Holistic Homies is a community-centered wellness collective dedicated to creating spaces where people can experience the safety, connection, and support that are essential for relational healing. Through accessible nervous system education, somatic practices, intentional community gatherings, and upstream harm prevention, we bridge the gap left by an increasingly disconnected and independence-focused society.

We believe that healing happens in relationships. Many people have never experienced relationships that felt consistently safe enough to learn how to effectively process emotions, integrate life's experiences, or develop healthy patterns of connection and attachment. Holistic Homies exists to offer that experience. We aim to be a community where people can rest, be witnessed, learn practical skills, and cultivate relationships rooted in safety, authenticity, and mutual care.

Our mission is to foster regulated individuals, resilient relationships, and connected communities by becoming anchors of safety for one another. As people experience belonging and learn new ways of relating to themselves and others, they are better equipped to break systemic cycles of violence, addiction, isolation, and disconnection, creating lasting ripples of healing that extend far beyond the individual.

We envision communities where everyone has access to safe connection, opportunities for growth, and the support needed not only to survive, but to thrive!  Then, more homies can use their creative abilities to become sources of safety, compassion, and resilience for others.

The Urgent Reality

  • Nearly half of U.S. adults report experiencing measurable levels of loneliness, and chronic loneliness is associated with poorer mental and physical health outcomes.

  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are common with about 64% of U.S. adults have experienced at least one ACE, and nearly 1 in 6 have experienced four or more. Higher ACE scores are associated with an increased risk of substance use, depression, chronic disease, and interpersonal violence.

  • Suicide is one of the leading causes of death among people ages 10–44 in the United States, highlighting the need for accessible, community-based support before crises develop.

  • Approximately 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences mental illness, yet many never receive treatment due to barriers such as cost, access, or stigma.

  • More than 48 million Americans experienced a substance use disorder in the past year, underscoring the need for both treatment and upstream prevention.

  • Social support is one of the strongest protective factors for mental health and resilience. People with strong social connections generally experience better physical health, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and improved recovery following adversity.

  • Positive childhood experiences and supportive adult relationships can buffer the effects of adversity, demonstrating that healing is possible when people have access to safe, consistent connection.

  • Communities with stronger social cohesion often experience better health outcomes, greater civic engagement, and lower rates of violence, suggesting that investing in relationships benefits entire communities.

  • Many forms of violence, addiction, and chronic emotional distress share common risk factors, including childhood adversity, chronic stress, and social isolation making prevention efforts that strengthen connection especially valuable.

Beyond
Independence

Modern society often celebrates independence as the ultimate measure of success, yet research consistently shows that our well-being is profoundly shaped by the quality of our relationships and communities. Many of today's greatest challenges, including loneliness, addiction, interpersonal violence, and chronic emotional distress, are influenced by social isolation, unresolved adversity, and a lack of safe, supportive connection. Relational healing was never meant to happen alone.

At Holistic Homies, we exist to bridge the gap between independence and interdependence by creating spaces where people can experience what safe, healthy relationships feel like and explore the core of what makes them safe.

Through accessible education, embodied experiences, and intentional community, we help people develop the skills, support, and sense of belonging needed to navigate life's challenges together. While no single organization can solve systemic issues like violence or addiction on its own, we believe that every safe relationship, every connected community, and every person who becomes an anchor of safety contributes to breaking these systemic cycles. We are creating ripples of healing that extend through families, neighborhoods, and future generations.
